    I finally worked up the nerve to acknowledge an older cousin by their first name, and they were okay with it. I’m not sure how many people can identify with this, but it always felt weird to me to call an older cousin “ma’am” or “sir”, but it also felt weird to call them by their first name too because they’re adults.
