• Relationships: "He Say, She Say", but What Does God Say?

Let me start by saying this post is not a battle of the sexes post to talk about which gender is right or wrong regarding relationships. We’re all human, and are all in need of guidance by the Holy Spirit when it comes to our relations with the opposite sex. What lead me to write this is my own curiosity. Specifically, I’ve always wondered why my generation has picked up on the “blame game” and why we choose to believe that these “all men are dogs” and “all women are bitter” accusations are true. Three words: WE ARE GULLIBLE. We’re so easily persuaded by major media outlets like the internet…

  • How Do I Grow Spiritually?

Seems so cliche to say, “In order to grow spiritually, we must develop a relationship with God through Christ.” When I say cliche, I am referring to an expression which has become overused to the point of losing its original meaning, or effect. Let’s point out the obvious. We know, or have been told, that people do things like go to church and surround themselves with a community of believers, they develop an active prayer life and read the Bible daily to grow. Actually, I don’t want to play these things down or devalue them, because they’re what shapes us as believers, but in essence, we’ve made these cliche. KNOW…

Call it extreme, but I believe it is the faithful church goers that are the people who miss Jesus the most, and I speak from experience. “Church” has been a band-aid for many people. It’s often used to speed up the healing process, but when removed, it uncovers deep and obvious scars that are left from when we’ve gotten burned and hit by the irons and weight of life. It’s like spraying perfume over a bad stench. It only works for the moment, but the minute the savoring scent dissolves into the…

  • Can I Take A Moment To Be Transparent With You?

I think I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve sat somewhere and scrolled through someone’s life on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media websites, only to be left feeling lonely, insecure, broken and empty inside when I’ve finished. Why do I even do this to myself?! It never fails! I ALWAYS get those feelings every time I find myself comparing my life to someone else’s. I’ve heard so many people look at my life and tell me how much I’m blessed, and for a minute I actually believe it, until I would ruin it for myself by looking at a picture of someone with 100 “likes” and…
